Burnt Sun is a t-shirt and apparel line featuring designs inspired by Amharic and Tigrinya, two popular languages spoken in the countries of Ethiopia and Eritrea. We find these “habesha” written languages in this region of East Africa to be artistic and beautiful in their own right. In 2014, we kicked off our first collection of shirts featuring the Amharic word for love: ፍቅር, and the Tigrinya word for freedom ናጽነት
